Job summary

UKRI International is offering a fixed-term apprenticeship (14 months) in the Finance team at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge. The role includes accounting support, invoice processing, and journal entries in Oracle Fusion, with training towards AAT Level 2 and other certificates.

You will work with the Deputy Head of Finance and Finance Officer, and participate in budget preparation and cost centre accounting. The programme combines in-person and online training sessions.

Qualifications

• Essential GCSEs in English and Maths at 9–4 levels (minimum).
• Desirable A level background.
• Apprenticeship with Level 2 accounting qualifications completed during the programme.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and liaise with requisitioners and UKSBS.
• Prepare input documents for invoices charged to cost centres.
• Scan, file and send invoices to UKSBS via Oracle Fusion service requests.
• Track utility/courier costs and support invoice processing and payments.
• Assist with month-end journals and accruals/prepayments.
• Support budgeting and forecasting data preparation.
• Provide general admin support to the Finance team.
• Maintain office facilities and update procedures manual.
