Position Details:

  • Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 35 hours a week (Hybrid - based in the outskirts of Coventry)
  • Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 pa

Our charity-based client, founded over 60 years ago, is seeking a talented individual for the role of Finance and Compliance Manager. The role involves working with the team on financial accounts and all aspects of contractual and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an internal business partner, providing timely and accurate financial information to support planning and performance.
  • Lead month-end processes, including journal reviews, purchase and sales ledgers, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet with analysis and comments.
  • Collaborate with budget holders on budgeting and reforecasting processes.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, gift aid, VAT, and charitable income.
  • Maintain external relationships with auditors, banks, pension providers, and insurers.
  • Handle stakeholder relationships related to invoicing, payments, and queries.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Assist with the charity's risk register and internal audit processes.
  • Support compliance with contracts and regulatory requirements such as data protection and health and safety.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in financial management, including management and statutory accounts, cash flow, and compliance.
  • Experience working with budget holders on budgets and forecasts.
  • Knowledge of risk management and charity governance (preferred).
  • Experience with statutory reporting, contract compliance, and charity finances (preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and financial analysis skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, with attention to detail.
  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience in accountancy, with charity finance knowledge preferred.
