Job summary

Connect2Dorset is recruiting a Financial Officer to support a key Dorset Innovation Park project in Winfrith Newburgh. The role focuses on reconciling historical financial data, analysing income and expenditure, and developing a financial model and dashboard for clear operational insight.

You will work with Dorset Council and other stakeholders to improve visibility and reporting across the commercial estate, handling complex financial information and delivering actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Experience developing financial models, dashboards, and management reports.
• Knowledge of service charge accounting within a large commercial estate environment.
• Experience interpreting management information from property managing agents.
• Ability to analyse, reconcile and present financial information from multiple sources.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with local authority or council accounting systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a financial model and dashboard to provide a comprehensive overview of operational finances relating to Dorset Innovation Park.
• Review and analyse historical expenditure incurred by Dorset Council, ensuring costs are accurately allocated and recorded.
• Investigate and reconcile income and expenditure from a range of third-party sources.
• Liaise with Dorset Council colleagues to understand cost codes, budget codes, expenditure, and income associated with the commercial estate.
• Collate, interpret, and present complex financial information from multiple sources to support reporting and decision-making.
• Review and rationalise legacy financial data to improve accuracy and transparency.
• Produce clear management information and financial insights for stakeholders.
