Client Details

Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Finance team at the Runcorn site.

Role Overview

As a Finance Analyst, you will support the sub-contracting team and prepare Management Accounts for the Business Unit on a weekly and monthly basis. You will work closely with the Business Unit Management Team to ensure reporting deadlines are met.

Main Responsibilities

1. Prepare accurate, timely, and user-friendly financial and commercial reports, including daily and weekly updates.
2. Assist in improving internal financial controls and procedures within the Operational Finance team, producing revenue and cost reports to analyze subcontractor spend.
3. Analyze data to understand variances and collaborate with operational managers to identify risks and opportunities for financial improvement.
4. Produce detailed weekly finance reports and accounts.
5. Utilize KPIs to drive business performance, reporting on revenue, costs, and variances to support operational decisions.
6. Liaise with the Subcontract Manager to ensure accurate accounting of Revenue and Costs weekly.
7. Use weekly accounts to prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
8. Coordinate with other departments to meet reporting deadlines.
9. Assist in preparing reforecasts and budgets throughout the year, presenting these to Directors and Senior Management.
10. Ensure financial controls are in place for accurate interim and year-end accounts, working professionally with external auditors.
11. Continuously review and improve processes for accuracy and efficiency.
12. Support various ad-hoc projects and provide holiday cover across Business Units.

Candidate Profile

• Studying towards AAT or CIMA qualification.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Operational accounting experience.
• Experience working within the Logistics industry is preferred.
