Client Details
Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Finance team at the Runcorn site.
Role Overview
As a Finance Analyst, you will support the sub-contracting team and prepare Management Accounts for the Business Unit on a weekly and monthly basis. You will work closely with the Business Unit Management Team to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely, and user-friendly financial and commercial reports, including daily and weekly updates.
- Assist in improving internal financial controls and procedures within the Operational Finance team, producing revenue and cost reports to analyze subcontractor spend.
- Analyze data to understand variances and collaborate with operational managers to identify risks and opportunities for financial improvement.
- Produce detailed weekly finance reports and accounts.
- Utilize KPIs to drive business performance, reporting on revenue, costs, and variances to support operational decisions.
- Liaise with the Subcontract Manager to ensure accurate accounting of Revenue and Costs weekly.
- Use weekly accounts to prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet reporting deadlines.
- Assist in preparing reforecasts and budgets throughout the year, presenting these to Directors and Senior Management.
- Ensure financial controls are in place for accurate interim and year-end accounts, working professionally with external auditors.
- Continuously review and improve processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Support various ad-hoc projects and provide holiday cover across Business Units.
Candidate Profile
- Studying towards AAT or CIMA qualification.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
- Operational accounting experience.
- Experience working within the Logistics industry is preferred.
