Job summary

SSE plc in Perth, Scotland, seeks a Finance Analyst to join the Connections Finance Team. Based in Perth, you will support end-to-end financial processes for thousands of connection projects across the UK, providing trusted financial support throughout the project lifecycle.

The role emphasises accuracy, continuous improvement and safety, with opportunities to develop skills, contribute ideas and help deliver a sustainable energy future.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance environment with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of financial systems and processes, ideally ERP-based.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with data interpretation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good working knowledge of Excel; Oracle Financials/Power Apps advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end financial processes across connection projects, ensuring accurate and timely delivery from quotation acceptance through to invoicing and project closure.
• Build positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues and customers, providing clear guidance and resolving queries with care and professionalism.
• Deliver high-quality invoicing, income transfers and refunds, maintaining strong financial controls and a safety-first approach to process compliance.
• Provide support and guidance on financial systems and processes, helping teams work effectively and confidently within established frameworks.
• Monitor project performance and financial information, sharing insights that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Salary: £36,139 - £43,188 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

Join our Connections Finance Team as a Finance Analyst and play an important role in supporting thousands of electricity connection projects that help power homes, businesses and communities across the UK. Based in Perth, you'll work collaboratively with operational, engineering and finance colleagues, providing trusted financial support throughout the lifecycle of connection projects. This is an excellent opportunity to combine financial processing, analysis and relationship building in a role where accuracy, continuous improvement and safety are at the heart of everything you do. You'll be supported to develop your skills, contribute new ideas, and make a meaningful impact as we help deliver a more sustainable energy future.

You will

You have

• Experience working within a finance environment, with the ability to prioritise workloads and deliver accurate results to agreed deadlines.
• A good understanding of financial systems and processes, ideally gained within an ERP-based environment.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with confidence interpreting data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with a collaborative, supportive and customer‑focused approach.
• Good working knowledge of Excel; experience with Oracle Financials, Power Apps or similar systems would be advantageous.
