Harmonic Finance is hiring a Finance AI Manager to own accounting, reporting, controls and the close in a fast-growing London-based consumer tech business operating in a hybrid setup.

You will partner with the Head of Finance, automate workflows and build in-house accounting processes to support budgets, fundraising and product launches, while shaping the control environment for high-volume financial flows.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Five years of relevant experience in finance/operating business
• Experience owning recurring finance processes and automation
• Comfort with data tooling (SQL, Power BI, Looker) and AI workflows
• Ability to operate in a high-volume fintech/consumer tech environment

Finance AI Manager | AI-Native Consumer Tech | London, Hybrid

The Client

Harmonic is partnering with an AI-native consumer tech business whose household AI agent manages bills and routine spending for nearly 250,000 UK families, finding them fairer deals on energy, broadband, mobile, insurance and mortgages and cancelling the subscriptions they no longer need. It is growing more than 22x year on year, has already managed over £600m of household spend, holds an NPS above +75 and is a certified B Corp.

The founders have built and exited consumer businesses before, and the company runs on small teams with real ownership, a flat structure and very little middle management. Everyone builds and ships, Finance included.

The Role

You will join as the second person in Finance, working directly with the Head of Finance, an engineer by training with 15+ years advising, investing in and operating VC-backed tech businesses. This is a broad, hands‑on role offering multiple routes of progression.

Some core finance workflows are already automated. Your first challenge is to build on that foundation: improve and automate how Finance works, and put in place the processes, data and controls that let the business bring its accounting in-house and run a lean function at scale. You will own accounting, reporting, controls and the close, and work directly with heads of department and the founders.

Over time you become the person the business relies on for accounting judgement, building the control environment around an increasingly complex business with a consumer fintech angle and high-volume financial flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and management accounts, with reconciliations, invoicing and the detail underneath them.
• Run high-volume reconciliations cleanly and make them increasingly automated as volumes grow.
• Build the processes, data and controls needed to bring accounting in-house from external accountants.
• Design proportionate financial controls and own the finance system as a reliable source of truth.
• Lead the business through its audit and own the accounting treatment of new and unusual questions as they arise.
• Work alongside product, data and engineering to build finance tooling and make unit economics visible.
• Support budgets, commercial decisions, fundraising and new product and market launches.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), backed by rigorous training and a strong academic record.
• Typically around five years of relevant experience, ideally combining rigorous practice or training with hands‑on time in an operating business.
• Experience owning recurring finance processes, including reconciliations, invoicing and month-end.
• Evidence that you build: processes you have automated, tools you have created or implemented, or workflows you have materially redesigned.
• Comfort with data tooling beyond Excel, such as SQL, Power Query, Looker or Power BI.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and confidence applying them where there is no playbook.
• Day-to-day use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT, particularly to automate a workflow end to end.
• Operating finance processes at volume, or bringing work in-house from external accountants.
• Designing or materially improving financial controls, or running an annual audit.
• A high-volume, transactional background such as fintech, marketplaces, energy or consumer tech.
