• Review and implement scalable finance processes utilizing AI tools.
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.

Led by a prominent figure in the AI and start‑up scene, they have ambitious plans to double revenues by the end of next year through the launch of new products and expansion into fresh verticals across a £10–20 billion industry.

Having recently completed a major, $50m, Series B, they’re now gearing up for a Series C raise, meaning finance will play a central role in preparing the business for its next leap in scale. The Role

Reporting directly into the VP of Finance, this is a career‑defining opportunity for an ambitious, hands‑on Financial Controller to lead core finance operations and help shape the future of a fast‑growing, Tech scale‑up. You’ll take ownership of accounting, reporting, and financial control, while driving continuous improvement across processes and systems, with exposure to their upcoming fundraise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team, overseeing all day‑to‑day activities including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and ledger management.
• Own the month‑end close and delivery of accurate management accounts and statutory reporting.
• Partner with FP&A to provide data‑driven insights that underpin strategic decisions.
• Manage regulatory reporting, working closely with auditors to ensure compliance.
• Review and implement finance processes to make them scalable, efficient, and automation‑ready, utilising AI tools (such as Zapier, Lovable, AI agents etc) to automate FinOps.
• Collaborate with wider teams to align financial control with commercial goals.
• Manage, coach, and develop a small, high‑performing finance team. (3‑4 direct reports)
• Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with industry experience.
• Start‑up or scale‑up environment experience
• Strong communicator, able to convey financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.

Location: Central London (Hybrid, 2‑3 days in office)
