Job summary

Safetykleen in West Bromwich is seeking a field-based Driver/ Waste Collection Operative to travel to customer sites, collect and exchange waste streams, and safely load/unload drums while delivering a professional service.

You will receive comprehensive training, support to develop ADR qualifications, and clear opportunities for career progression along with private healthcare, pension, and wellbeing benefits. Monday to Friday days; no weekends.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Enjoy being on the road and building trusted relationships.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete 9–11 customer site visits per day, collecting and exchanging non-hazardous, low-hazardous and hazardous waste streams.
• Safely load and unload drums and containers onto and from your vehicle.
• Build positive relationships with customers across a wide range of industries.
• Work closely with the Branch Manager and customers to meet operational requirements and resolve queries.
• Use handheld tablets and CRM systems to manage your daily route, service delivery and workload.

The Opportunity

Join our West Bromwichteam in a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You'll spend your time out on the road, visiting a wide range of customers and building strong relationships along the way.

Supported by a dedicated local branch team, you'll safely collect and exchange non‑hazardous, low‑hazardous and hazardous waste streams, while delivering a professional and friendly service. Your work will help our customers stay compliant while contributing to a safer, cleaner environment.

No previous waste industry experience? No problem. We provide full training and will support you in working towards your ADR licence as you develop in the role.

• Salary £35,000 plus bonus OTE £39,200k
