Main Responsibilities for the Field Technician

Reporting directly to the Environmental Monitoring Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking environmental monitoring duties, including sampling groundwater, surface waters, and landfill leachate, recording water levels, and measuring concentrations of landfill gas. • Input collected data into the monitoring database.
  • Support maintenance of site environmental management plans for closed landfills, in line with EMS requirements.
  • Support regulatory engagement regarding closed landfill sites.
  • Undertake additional environmental monitoring duties as needed.
  • Provide advice to site management, geologists, and estates teams regarding permit or trigger level breaches related to landfill gas, water quality, and water levels, enabling timely corrective actions.
  • Support the Environmental Monitoring Manager as required.
