Job summary

AWD online is seeking Field Technicians to support water hygiene and compliance at client sites. Two roles are available: an experienced professional and a trainee with training and support to learn the role.

Responsibilities include monitoring, sampling, testing, and reporting while working in the field. The successful candidates will join a growing field team, with a company vehicle provided, ongoing training and explicit career progression pathways from Technician to Senior Engineer.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out water hygiene monitoring and inspections.
• Complete water sampling and testing activities.
• Clean and disinfect water storage tanks and descaling of showerheads and outlets.
• Inspect and maintain TMVs and monitor closed systems.
• Communicate professionally with clients and provide support.
• Follow ACOP L8, HSG274 and company procedures.

JOB OVERVIEW

A varied opportunity to work across client sites while developing a career in water hygiene and compliance is available, with the Field Technician carrying out practical monitoring, sampling, testing and inspections.

With two positions available, the Field Technician team will include both an experienced water hygiene professional and someone joining with transferable skills and learning the role through training and support.

The Field Technician will also complete electronic reports, maintaining records and supporting customers while working as part of a growing field team.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Field Technician include (full training will be provided to trainee candidates)

• Water Hygiene Monitoring and Inspections: Carry out temperature monitoring and water hygiene inspections
• Water Sampling and Testing: Complete water sampling and testing activities
• Tank Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect water storage tanks
• Showerhead and Outlet Descaling: Descale showerheads and outlets
• TMV Inspections and Maintenance: Inspect and maintain thermostatic mixing valves
• Closed System Monitoring: Complete closed system monitoring activities
• Flushing Programmes: Carry out flushing programmes
• Electronic Reporting and Record Keeping: Complete accurate electronic reports and records
• Client Liaison and Customer Support: Communicate professionally with clients and provide customer support
• Compliance Standards and Procedures: Complete activities in accordance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and company procedures

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Full UK driving licence

• Live within 2 hours' travel of the Bromsgrove office
• Flexibility to stay away from home when required
