We're currently looking for a passionate and driven Field Technician to join the environment and permitting team, covering sites in the Northeast of England—from north Nottinghamshire to Northumberland, along the A1 corridor. Reporting directly to the Environmental Monitoring Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking environmental monitoring duties, including sampling groundwater, surface waters, and landfill leachate, recording water levels, and measuring concentrations of landfill gas. You will report the results and follow-up actions to ensure the Company's quarries and landfill sites operate to minimize environmental impact and comply with legislative requirements. You will collate and report data accurately and ensure compliance with reporting schedules.
Importantly, around 90% of your work will be field-based, outdoors in all weather conditions, including site visits.
Please note: You must hold a Full UK car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points to be considered. A 4x4 vehicle and fuel card will be provided, fully expensed but not for private use.
This role requires good time management, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently following complex procedures. Experience in data collection and reporting, computer literacy (spreadsheets and databases), and effective communication with stakeholders are advantageous.
