Job summary

Key Selection Recruitment Limited is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to cover Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. You will manage existing customers and win new business, providing technical guidance on cutting tool selection and optimisation.

Ideal candidates have technical sales experience in tooling or precision engineering, strong machining knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously across a defined territory with travel in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical sales — ideally cutting tools, tooling, or precision engineering.
• Strong understanding of machining processes: turning, milling, drilling, threading.
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and comfortable working autonomously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• An engineering qualification or background is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an existing customer base across the above area.
• Identify and win new business across manufacturing, engineering, and aerospace sectors.
• Provide technical advice on cutting tool selection, application, and optimisation.
• Prepare and present technical proposals and quotations.
• Work closely with our internal support team to ensure customers get the right solution.
• Report on pipeline, territory activity, and market intelligence.
