Job summary

Envision Energy is hiring a Field Services Engineer for Battery Energy Storage Systems, covering South England and travel across Great Britain. You will perform site-based maintenance, commissioning, and customer support, collaborating with MEP, Development and Construction teams.

The role requires HSE-focused field work, strong electrical qualifications, and hands-on experience with BESS assets. A full UK driving license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• RAMS / SHEQ / CDM knowledge and experience in electrical installation projects.
• Experience in Electrical Contracting / Construction environment/Mechanical.
• Desirable knowledge of BS7671 renewables, Battery storage EV charging, PV installations.
• 18th edition of BS7671 2382-18.
• City & Guilds electrical certification level 3 NVQ, 5357 EAL , 2357-13 EAL or equivalent.
• ECS card registered with the IEC.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages.
• Able to organize and priorities to meet deadlines.
• Excellent problem solving.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Develop an O&M function for asset management as the asset base grows.
• Deliver O&M services for BESS assets and ensure efficient delivery.
• Manage operational and technical escalations per regulatory, contractual & commercial obligations.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with O&M and technical partners to identify and resolve.
• Identify areas for improvement and further optimization of the system.
• Provide phone support and remote diagnostics to customers.
• Maintain Envision Energy's BESS assets with annual PPM checks, capacity tests, and reactive works.
• Always work in a safe manner and keep up with administrative duties.
• Travel within Great Britain as required.

Job Title: Field Services Engineer - Battery Energy Storage Systems

Location: South England, Bristol, North London, Oxfordshire

As pioneers in the industry, we manufacture our own cells (AESC), DC storage systems, bi-directional inverters (PCS), transformers, PPC, EMS, and SCADA. We then connect these components seamlessly to construct power plants fuelled by batteries, displacing traditional coal and gas generators. This shift enables sustainable viability for renewable energy sources like solar and wind.

About the Role

A (BESS) Field Service Engineer assists with the Device research and testing protocols; write battery testing schedules; install production equipment or systems. Data collection, analysis, statistical understanding, writing and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) Prepare contracts, disclosures, applications, procedural documents, and technical reports. Carries out planned and unplanned maintenance.

The role will work extensively with other stakeholders within the (BESS) team, including MEP, Development, and Construction to ensure that any factors that impact the effective operation of our BESS assets are understood and actively managed.

Regular site visits will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure to deliver O&M services for BESS assets and develop to ensure effective and efficient delivery of works.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that operational and technical escalations are managed in line with regulatory, contractual & commercial obligations.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with our O&M service team and technical partners to identify and resolve issues.
• Identifying areas of need for improvement and further optimisation of the system to enhance further efficiency.
• Assist with phone support and remote diagnostics to customers.
• Any other duties as required. Maintain Envision - Energy Storage Systems to a high standard by carrying out annual PPM checks, annual capacity tests and reactive works.
• Responsible for always working in a safe manner.
• Provide phone support and remote diagnostics to customers.
• Keep up to date with any administrative duties such as time sheets, daily vehicle checks and providing daily job logs and reports, describing issues and actions taken during the service trips.
• Troubleshoot equipment located at customer sites.
• Perform start-up and commissioning services at customer locations (SAT).
• Assist the in-house system engineering group in product development and or project work.
• Provide suggestions based on field experiences to improve products.
• Prepare and perform customer training at Envision as well as customer facilities (if required)
• Initial office location will be closest site to your home.
• Company vehicle will be provided after 6 months of training and certification of envision systems
• Pool car will be available with the team for the first period for travelling from site to site as accompanied with specialist team.
• The position requires the ability to travel within Great Britain.
