Job summary

A well-established engineering recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a Recruitment Consultant with hands-on experience in water treatment or electro-mechanical engineering. The role involves servicing water treatment systems, problem-solving, and maintaining customer relationships. Candidates should possess a full UK driving licence and ideally have a background in engineering. Training provided where needed. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to work across Somerset and the South West.

Somerset / South & South West (Field Based)

Permanent, Full Time

This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in water treatment, filtration or electro‑mechanical engineering. You’ll be on‑site most days, supporting customers, keeping systems running smoothly and representing a growing business with a strong reputation for quality. A full UK driving licence is essential.

If you come from a Royal Engineers or REME background, you’ll feel right at home. Full training is provided where needed.

The Role

• Servicing and maintaining water treatment systems across the South and South West
• Membrane exchanges and installing replacement parts
• CIP work and chemical management
• Fault finding and problem solving
• Writing risk assessments and method statements
• Daily reporting and clear communication with customers
• Identifying opportunities to add value on site
• Ensuring pilot and rental systems are operating correctly
• Planning and coordinating site visits

Additional Involvement

• Supporting with system builds and commissioning
• Assisting on installations and project work
• Attending customer meetings and presentations
• Gathering data from pilot systems

Qualifications & Experience

• Time‑served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, and/or
• Degree in process, chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a practical, hands‑on engineering role
• Experience with PLC/HMI basics is beneficial
