Role Description

The Field Services Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Burgess Hill. The role involves visiting customer locations to install, commission, and service mobility equipment such as stairlifts, scooters, wheelchairs, and moving and handling devices. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing faults, performing repairs, carrying out preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment is safe, compliant, and functioning effectively. The Field Services Engineer will complete service reports, maintain accurate records, manage parts and tools, and liaise with the wider team to schedule work efficiently. The role also requires providing clear, respectful support to customers, explaining how equipment works, and promoting a positive service experience in line with Clearwell Mobility’s standards.




Qualifications


  • Strong field service experience, including on-site installation and repair of mechanical or electro-mechanical equipment.

  • Ability to diagnose faults and perform effective troubleshooting and technical support for mobility or similar equipment.

  • Background in preventive maintenance, including planned servicing and safety checks to ensure reliable operation.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and work respectfully with a diverse customer base.

  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in engineering, electrical, or mechanical disciplines) is beneficial.

  • Comfort working with hand tools and test equipment; understanding of basic electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally for customer visits.

  • Experience in mobility equipment or healthcare-related products is an advantage but not essential.
