Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking a Field Service Technician/Engineer in Stoke-on-Trent. The role is field-based with full training, a company van, and a clear path to develop technical skills in a customer-facing environment.

Salary starts at £28,000 per year with a Monday–Friday, 37.5-hour week. A full driving licence is required and occasional overnight stays may be necessary. You will be supported by an experienced team and comprehensive on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• No previous field engineering experience required; training provided.
• A passion for practical problem solving and helping customers.
• Driving licence required (21+ for insurance).

Responsibilities

• Visit customers on-site and build great working relationships.
• Listen to customers, understand issues and propose solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with garage equipment.
• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Show customers how to use equipment safely; full training provided.
• Keep clear records of visits, repairs and maintenance.
• Work with the technical team to share feedback and improve products and service.
• Always follow health & safety procedures on customer sites.
• Manage your own diary and work independently.

Field Service Technician / Engineer

Stoke-On-Trent

£28,000 per year

Monday - Friday 37.5 hours

We’re looking for a practical, curious and people-focused individual to join our clients growing team as a Field Engineer. Although advantageous, you don’t need previous engineering experience – what matters most is having the right attitude, enjoying solving problems and being confident speaking with customers with a technical aptitude.

You will receive full on the job training, and the technical support you need to become a highly skilled Field Engineer, with a knowledgeable team behind you every step of the way.

Due to driving a company van – a full driving licence is required. Also, occasional overnight stays may be required.

What will you be doing?

• Every day will be a little different, with a mix of hands-on engineering, problem-solving and customer interaction.
• Visit customers on-site and build great working relationships.
• Listen carefully to customers, understand what’s going wrong and work out the best solution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with garage equipment.
• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Show customers how to use their equipment safely and effectively – full training will be provided.
• Keep clear and accurate records of visits, repairs and maintenance.
• Work closely with the wider technical team, sharing feedback and ideas to improve products and service.
• Always put safety first and follow the required health & safety procedures when working on customer sites.

• Driving licence, aged 21 and over for insurance purposes

You’ll receive full training and ongoing support from an experienced technical team, giving you the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a first-rate Field Engineer.

The role is primarily field-based, so occasional overnight stays may be required depending on customer requirements.
