Our client is a deep tech marine technology company developing autonomous environmental monitoring platform that use advanced sensors to detect harmful algal blooms and jellyfish at salmon and finfish farming sites, Our field and R&D base is in Fort William, at the heart of Scotland's west coast salmon-farming region, and we work directly alongside the industry's leading farming companies.
This is an early-stage post in a growing, dynamic team. You have a critical role in getting our products deployed and supported on site and feeding what you learn in the field straight back to our product and engineering teams.
This is a hybrid field-and-workshop position for someone who is equally comfortable on a fish farm and in on a PC diagnosing a comms link. You will install, commission and maintain our monitoring equipment on sites across the west coast and islands, and carry out assembly, testing and service work back at our Fort William unit.
Note on background: Direct fish farm site experience is strongly preferred. However, we will consider candidates with strong IT and field-engineering experience from another remote-site industry — such as offshore energy or telecoms — who can demonstrate they will get up to speed quickly in the aquaculture environment.
