Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and maintain CNC machinery at customer sites across the Midlands, primarily around Birmingham. You will receive extensive training, have a clear development path, and be home most nights.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with machinery or lathes; training provided.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel locally and engage with customers on site.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Replace, adjust and align mechanical components to meet specification.
  • Conduct inspections and complete detailed service reports.
  • Provide basic operator guidance to customers after maintenance visits.
  • Liaise with technical support for additional expertise.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and service vehicle to a high standard.
  • Travel to customer sites within local patch with minimal overnight stays.
  • Build product knowledge through ongoing training and development.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements.

Field Service Technician (Birmingham)

As a Field Service Technician, you will service and maintain world-class CNC machinery at customer sites across the Midlands, predominantly in and around Birmingham, and you will be home most nights. You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues and keep every machine performing at its peak, building your skills steadily until you become the go-to expert in your area. Job Responsibilities
  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimise downtime
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults quickly and effectively

Skills and Experience

To grow into a great Field Service Technician, you will need:

  • A practical, mechanically minded nature, whether from work or from hobbies such as working on cars, bikes or machinery at home
  • Hands‑on experience with machinery or lathes, which is ideal but genuinely not essential, as full training is provided
  • Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Comfort travelling within a local patch and dealing with customers on site
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A professional approach with good communication skills
  • Most importantly, a genuine desire to learn and grow, as no electrical or product knowledge is required to start
Pay and Benefits

As a Field Service Technician you will receive:

  • Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience
  • OTE circa £37,000 with bonuses
  • Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
  • A company car (example: VW Tiguan or BMW X1)
  • An annual company performance bonus
  • A monthly bonus paid per machine sold
  • Up to 6% matched pension contribution
