Job summary

WR Engineering is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, commission and service commercial laundry equipment across the UK & Ireland. You will work with a expanding team to maintain complex automated systems, diagnose faults and ensure equipment operates to specification.

The role requires field-based work, weekend/site travel and a company vehicle. A strong electrical/controls background and experience with conveyors or automation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Field service background or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with electrical/electronic and mechanical fault finding.
• Comfortable working at customer sites and travel across UK & Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission equipment.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Fault find across electrical, controls and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults on PLCs, sensors and conveyors.
• Provide customer support and complete service reports.

Field Service Technician

Location: UK & Ireland - Field Based

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 + overtime & travel allowances

Employment Type: Permanent

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Technician to join an established commercial laundry equipment business during a period of growth and investment in its UK & Ireland service operation.

Working as part of a growing team of field-based technicians, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding of complex industrial laundry and automated equipment at customer sites across the UK and Ireland.

The role would suit an experienced electrical or electro-mechanical engineer who enjoys working in the field and is comfortable diagnosing faults across electrical, controls, mechanical and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and commissioning of commercial and industrial laundry equipment.
• Planned and reactive maintenance at customer sites.
• Electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding.
• Diagnosing faults across control systems, PLCs, sensors, motors and automated equipment.
• Working on conveyors, automation and associated industrial machinery.
• Carrying out equipment modifications and repairs where required.
• Providing technical support to customers and resolving equipment issues efficiently.
• Completing service reports and relevant technical documentation.
• Supporting installation projects and ensuring equipment is commissioned correctly.
• Working closely with the wider service and installation team.
• Travelling extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays.
• Participating in occasional weekend installation and service work.

About You

The company is open to candidates from a range of technical backgrounds and direct commercial laundry experience is not essential.

£40,000 - £42,000 basic salary, depending on experience
