Job summary

Imi Plc in Manchester is seeking a Field Service Technician to join the expanding European Field Service team. You will install, upgrade, service and repair IMI and competitor products on site and in the Manchester facility, supporting customers and ensuring uptime.

The role offers travel across the UK and Europe, hands-on problem solving, and potential progression through the Valve Doctor Program. You will work in a dynamic global environment that values innovation and initiative.

Qualifications

• Experience or recognised apprenticeship/qualification.
• Background in fossil power, oil & gas industry.
• Excellent problem solving and initiative.

Responsibilities

• On-site and workshop troubleshooting of critical and severe service valves.
• Take lead during outages and coordinate manpower when required.
• Develop innovative technical solutions to customer problems.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or upgrades.
• Plan and supervise on-site work within defined time scopes.

Job description

As a Field Service Technician, you will be a key part of the expanding European Field Service team based in Manchester in the UK providing customer support, as well as installing, upgrading, servicing, and repairing IMI and competitor products both on site and in the Manchester facility. The position offers a potential career journey potentially gaining a place on our renowned Valve Doctor Program.

Main Responsibilities

• On site and workshop troubleshooting and problemsolving of issues with critical and severe service controlvalves.
• Taking the lead during manpower through outages asrequired.
• Develop innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products orupgrades to resolve customer issues.
• Plan & supervise on site, working within time restraints toa specific scope of work. Identify, monitor and reportissues or delays on site which are not the root cause ofIMI but effect the ability to complete work within allottedtime scales.
