Job Description: Customer Care Engineer / Field Service Technician

Join a reputable developer in Croydon, specializing in fixing snagging and warranty issues in new build homes. Be proud to work with a high-caliber team for an award-winning contractor with 50 years of experience in the high-quality residential sector in Greater London.

Responsibilities

• Manage warranty, defect, and snagging requests, either by fixing issues directly or supervising contractors to meet contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Work closely with Customer Care office coordinators to handle reported issues and assist in organizing materials and additional labor as needed.
• Inspect issues firsthand, coordinate remedial actions, and carry out repairs related to latent defects.
• Attend inspections with clients and contractors, supervise contractors and engineers, and ensure high-quality work.
• Liaise with residents and attend meetings with clients to ensure clarity and confidence regarding project specifics.
• Update senior staff on issues, document actions taken, and ensure photographic and video evidence are recorded.
• Maintain regular contact with the Customer Care team, provide progress updates, and attend client inspections when required.
• Ensure appearance and vehicles are maintained professionally, and attend training courses to adhere to health and safety policies.
• Assist in investigations of latent defects and participate in team meetings.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays (paid additionally).

Qualifications and Skills

• Recognized trades qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in repair or maintenance tasks, ideally in new build housing warranty repairs.
• Full UK driving license.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, proficiency with hand and power tools, and comfort working on ladders and access platforms.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Benefits

Competitive salary of GBP45K-GBP48K, company van (not for personal use), and a comprehensive benefits package. Tools are your responsibility, but a trades card will be provided for material purchases, expensed accordingly.
