Job summary

MC Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Based Electrical Technician to perform on-site planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns across a fleet of Landfill Gas (LFG) Power Generation sites in the Bedfordshire area. You will conduct safety paperwork, fault diagnosis, and maintain plant availability to minimise downtime.

The role requires an electrical engineering qualification, knowledge of BS7671, and the ability to travel regularly.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification is essential.
• Experience with fault finding on electrical systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with high voltage equipment and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to maximise plant availability.
• Interact with electrical contractors on site and complete safety paperwork.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on electrical systems.
• Provide daily maintenance/reports and documentation.
• Be flexible with travel and extra hours when needed.

Field Service Technician - Electrical

Up to £48,000 + 15% bonus + van

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Field Based Electrical Technician to conduct on site planned maintenance & respond to breakdowns on a fleet of Landfill Gas (LFG) Power Generation sites.

As the Electrical Technician you will be responsible for:

• Complete corrective maintenance so that electrical defects are fixed first time when possible.
• Meet & greet electrical contractors on site, conducting safety paperwork etc so their work can be completed.
• Fault diagnosis & repairs on electrical systems to maximise plant availability.
• Provide daily reports.
• Other duties as required.

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Electrical engineering technical qualification essential (BTEC ONC/HNC, NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of electrical generators desired but not essential
• Working knowledge of BS7671, 18th edition Electrical Installation Regulations and associated legislative standards
• Knowledge and experience of fault finding & working from electrical drawings
• Knowledge & experience of Operating High voltage Switchgear
• Flexible approach to work – willing to travel regularly & put in extra hours when needed

• A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
