SCINERGY Recruitment Limited is recruiting an Electrical Field Technician to support a leading renewable energy generator across sites in the West region (Gloucester, Bristol, Swindon and surrounding areas).

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment to maximise plant availability, while adhering to safety standards and company procedures. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualificações

• Electrical qualification (e.g., BTEC ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is required.
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance within power generation or similar industry.
• Knowledge of electrical fault finding and working from drawings; BS 7671 awareness.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment across West region sites
• Diagnose and repair faults on switchgear, transformers, generators and related systems
• Operate high voltage switchgear and perform safe electrical isolations
• Support rebuild team by safely isolating and disconnecting alternators before engine removal
• Induct and supervise on-site electrical contractors with safety documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability and reduce costs
• Complete daily work reports and monthly maintenance updates
• Ensure compliance with procedures, health and safety policies and legislation
• Support regional and national electrical teams when required

Electrical Field Technician - Renewable Energy

Up to £48,000 + bonus up to 15% + company van & fuel card + benefits

West Region - Gloucester, Bristol, Swindon and surrounding areas

SCINERGY Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrical Field Technician to join a leading renewable energy generator, covering sites across the West region.

The business generates low-carbon electricity from captured methane, industrial solar and battery energy storage. The Electrical Field Technician will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on high voltage and low voltage electrical equipment, ensuring maximum plant availability with minimal downtime.

As the Electrical Field Technician you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment across sites in the West region
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on switchgear, transformers, generator sets and associated systems
• Operating high voltage switchgear and carrying out electrical isolations safely
• Supporting the rebuild team by safely isolating and disconnecting alternators ahead of engine removal
• Inducting and overseeing on-site electrical contractors, ensuring all relevant safety documentation is completed
• Identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability, reduce costs and increase efficiency
• Completing daily work reports and monthly updates on maintenance programmes, issues and actions
• Ensuring all work complies with company procedures, health and safety policies and relevant legislation
• Supporting the regional and national electrical teams when required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• A relevant electrical engineering qualification, such as a BTEC ONC/HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance within power generation, manufacturing, utilities, steel or a similar industry
• Knowledge and experience of electrical fault finding and working from electrical drawings
• Knowledge and experience of operating high voltage switchgear
• Working knowledge of BS 7671, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and associated legislative standards
• A flexible approach, with a willingness to travel regularly and work additional hours when required
• A full UK driving licence and confidence using laptops, mobile devices and technical applications
