Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service a range of products across the Newcastle to Carlisle corridor. You will establish strong customer relationships, perform routine servicing, validation, fault finding, and calibration of equipment while maintaining safety and accurate documentation.

The role requires self-motivation, flexibility under pressure, and a genuine interest in customer service. Travel within the North region is expected as part of field duties.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical or mechanical engineering (desirable).
• Experience in service and validation of washer-disinfectors and autoclaves (desirable).
• Good interpersonal skills and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of equipment.
• Perform routine validation of Getinge equipment to client contracts.
• Fault find electrical and mechanical issues on equipment.
• Carry out calibration where necessary.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts and ensure safe working conditions.
• Produce quality documentation for customers and report issues to Service Supervisor.
• Produce quality documentation for the customer.
• Maintain regular communication with the Service Department.
• Ensure equipment is used and looked after safely; report faults to Service Supervisor.
• Organise and prioritise a changing workload and respond to customer calls.
• Ensure safe working including PPE.
• Provide sales leads to Service/Sales Manager.

Field Service Engineer - Surgical Workplaces

Location - Based anywhere between Newcastle and Carlisle corridor covering North

Job Purpose:

To effectively carry out routine service and testing on a range of Getinge's products, establish and maintain good customer relations by demonstrating a professional approach to work.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• To cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
• To carry out routine servicing of equipment.
• To carry out routine validation of Getinge equipment to the relevant standards as stated in terms and conditions of the client’s contract.
• To carry out electrical/mechanical fault finding of equipment.
• To carry out calibration of equipment, where necessary.
• To maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts.
• To produce quality documentation for submission to the customer.
• To maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department.
• To ensure the company equipment is being used and looked after correctly and that it is kept in a safe condition. To report all faulty equipment or equipment out of calibration to Service Supervisor.
• To ensure that correct returns and non-conformance report procedures are followed.
• To organise and prioritise a continuously changing workload, ensuring that all customers’ calls and enquiries are replied to.
• To ensure safe and tidy working including use of protective footwear, work wear and hard hats were required for local site working.
• To problem solve, combining initiative with a practical and logical approach to all aspects of the position.
• To provide sales leads to Service/Sales Manager

Quality System Duties and Responsibilities:

• To read and comply with the company policy and procedures on Quality Management Systems.
• To co-operate readily, politely and amicably with other company personnel

Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering. (desirable)

Knowledge/experience:

• Previous knowledge and experience in the service and validation of washer-disinfectors and autoclaves to the appropriate standards (desirable).
• Self-motivated.
• Flexible and able to adapt under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Genuine interest in people and to be able to deal with customers in a friendly manner
