Job summary

Unicorn Resourcing Limited is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for the Kent region. You will service, repair, calibrate and validate medical washer-disinfectors in hospitals and clinics, with company vehicle provided.

This role requires a Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification, an apprenticeship, strong fault finding, and a full UK driving licence; extensive on-site training and long-term career prospects are offered.

Responsibilities

• Own site-based technical issues.
• Provide training and support for end users, and coach new engineers.
• Service of third-party products within portfolio.

Field Service Engineer - Kent

Salary: up to 38,500 with paid qualifications with City and Guilds

Hours: 45 hours per week, 9.5 hour days with 30 minute unpaid lunch

Location: Ashford/Dover/Maidstone/Tunbridge Wells/Dartford/Seven Oaks (15-20 mile radius)

Overtime: Paid, enhanced weekend rates

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays

Vehicle: Company car, Skoda Superb Estate or Transit Connect van

A well established specialist engineering business operating within the healthcare sector is recruiting a Field Service Engineer.

The company installs, services, calibrates and validates medical washer disinfectors within hospitals and clinical environments. Engineers are trained to work on Class 1 medical devices and supported with structured internal and external training programmes.

These are long term career roles with full technical training provided.

Due to site locations, occasional overnight stays will be required.

The Role

You will be responsible for the service, repair, calibration and validation of medical washer disinfectors and drying and storage systems within healthcare settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Service, repair and modification of medical reprocessing equipment
• Calibration, validation and periodic testing
• Electrical fault finding and mechanical maintenance
• Creation of on site validation and laboratory reports
• Implementation of company quality procedures
• Ownership of site based technical issues
• Training and support for end users
• Coaching and first line support for new engineers
• Servicing of selected third party products within the portfolio

This is a field based, customer facing engineering role requiring professionalism, accuracy and strong documentation discipline.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline, ideally both
• Time served apprenticeship highly desirable
• Strong electrical fault finding ability
• Mechanical aptitude, including small pumps and seals
• Logical problem solving skills
• Full UK driving licence

Engineers from outside the medical device industry are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training and mentoring.

Ex military engineers are particularly well suited to this environment.
