Job summary

Halma, a global life-saving technology group, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide maintenance, calibration and repair of electronic gas detection equipment across the Salisbury region and surrounding areas. You will service sites, train customers when needed, and ensure first-time fixes where possible.

You will work with the Service Admin team to schedule jobs, complete on-site paperwork, manage van stock, and uphold PPE standards.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, calibrating and repairing electronic gas detection equipment to the relevant standards.
• Ensure all serviced products are tested and left fully operational and demonstrated to the site responsible person (recorded on-service paperwork).
• Support other team members on jobs that require multiple engineers.
• Provide customer 'user training' when required - once experienced.
• Work closely with the Service Admin team ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently and meet customer requirements.
• Ensure service reports are completed accurately and submitted on time.
• Complete RAM's and POWRA's when required (training provided).
• Responsible for van stock holding and calibration gas holding, ensuring adequacy for the region and first-time fix where possible.
• Maintain PPE and service clothing, and keep equipment up to date and operational.
• Cover a geographical area based from Salisbury / Andover / Warminster and other areas to cover 2-man jobs.

As a member of the Field Service Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service to all customers as well as attending customers sites to perform proactive maintenance, repairs and commissioning of our products. Your main duties will include:

• Servicing, calibrating and repairing electronic gas detection equipment to the relevant standards.
• Ensure all serviced products are tested and left fully operational and - demonstrated to the site responsible person (recorded as such on-service paperwork).
• Support other team members on jobs that require multiple engineers.
• Provide customer 'user training' when required - once experienced.
• Work closely with the Service Admin team making sure jobs are scheduled efficiently and meeting customers’ requirements.
• Ensure service reports are completed accurately and submit them for processing on time.
• Complete RAM's and POWRA's when required (training given).
• Responsible for van stock holding and calibration gas holding, ensuring that it is appropriate for the customer base in your region, and that 'life critical' components are cycled regularly to ensure we can offer a first-time fix where possible.
• Ensure all personal PPE is maintained within inspection expiry dates, all service clothing is clean and respectable at the start of the day, and all service equipment is 'up to date' and operational.
• Cover a geographical area based from the Salisbury / Andover / Warminster and other areas to cover 2-man jobs.
