Job summary

Planet Recruitment are recruiting an Electronics Field Service Engineer for a leading manufacturer of life-saving safety equipment. You will maintain, repair, calibrate and commission gas detection equipment while delivering excellent customer service across the Salisbury region.

The role also offers full product training, a 37.5-hour week with travel time included, a company van and credit card, paid overtime, pension scheme (up to 10.5% matched), company shares, health cash plan, and 25 days

Responsibilities

• Service, calibrate, and repair electronic gas detection equipment.
• Ensure products are tested and operational after service visits.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with Service Administration to manage jobs.
• Support colleagues on larger projects as needed.
• Maintain van stock, calibration equipment, PPE, and service tools.
• Deliver customer training when trained.
• Cover the Salisbury area with occasional travel for two-person jobs.

Planet Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading manufacturer of life-saving safety equipment who are looking to recruit an Electronics Field Service Engineer to join their Field Service team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electronics or electrical experience to develop their career within a globally recognised business. No previous gas detection experience is required, as full product training will be provided.

The successful candidate will ideally be based in or around the Salisbury, covering customer sites across the region.

The Role

As an Electronics Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and commissioning specialist gas detection equipment while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, calibrate, and repair electronic gas detection equipment.
• Ensure products are fully tested and operational following service visits.
• Complete service reports and required documentation accurately.
• Work closely with the Service Administration team to coordinate jobs effectively.
• Support colleagues on larger projects where required.
• Maintain van stock, calibration equipment, PPE, and service tools.
• Deliver customer training once fully trained.
• Cover the Salisbury area, with occasional travel for two-person jobs.

About You

• HNC/HND in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical qualification preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting or repairing electronic equipment.
• Previous Field Service Engineering experience advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
• IPAF, Confined Space, or Safety Passport desirable, though training will be provided.
• Comfortable in a physically active role, including occasional confined space work.
• £40k to £41k per annum
• Paid overtime (1.5x rate / double time Sundays)
