Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Repair and Service Engineer for an established engineering manufacturer in Luton. The role combines customer-site installation, commissioning and repair work with hands-on assembly and overhaul duties at the Luton workshop between assignments.

You will install, commission, maintain pumps and rotating equipment, act as the main customer contact on site, supervise contractors, complete safety procedures, and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with pumps, rotating equipment, or similar machinery.
• Experience in power, manufacturing, or oil and gas.
• HNC or equivalent technical qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with installation and commissioning.
• Willingness to travel and work shifts.
• High-voltage experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair pumps and rotating equipment.
• Be the main customer contact during site work.
• Supervise contractors and site labour.
• Complete risk assessments and follow safety procedures.
• Investigate and resolve technical problems.
• Work with engineering and management teams to meet specifications.
• Complete service reports and timesheets.
• Support workshop assembly when not travelling.
