Job summary

MARCH is seeking a mechanically minded Service Engineer to join our growing team across the UK. You’ll work on pumps, rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical plant, carrying out fault-finding, diagnosis and maintenance.

Training is provided for compressed air systems while you expand your skills in a varied field role. You’ll manage your own workload, deliver excellent customer service and ensure work complies with Health & Safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working on pumps, rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes or other mechanical plant machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Background in maintenance engineering or field service engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and reliability techniques.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on compressed air systems and associated equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using a systematic fault-finding approach.
• Investigate equipment failures and identify root causes to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance activities at customer sites.
• Inspect pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, valves and other rotating equipment.
• Complete equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning works.
• Accurately complete service reports and maintenance documentation.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to customers.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.
