Job summary

Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to cover pumping systems across the UK, primarily Sussex/Kent. The role involves maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations on water and sewage pumping stations at commercial, industrial and domestic sites, with a focus on reliability and customer service.

You will diagnose mechanical/electrical faults, travel to customer sites, and work independently while maintaining detailed service records.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, maintaining or repairing pumping systems or similar mechanical equipment.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical fault-finding.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload and meet customer deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on water and sewage pumping stations.
• Respond to reactive breakdowns, investigate faults and complete repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Undertake electrical installation, servicing and remedial works.
• Respond to critical alarms via telemetry monitoring as part of on-call rota.
• Support installation engineers with equipment installations when required.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintain records using company IT systems.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, workmanship and customer service.
