Job summary

Midas Selection is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for a UK manufacturer of advanced precision-machining equipment based in Leicestershire. You will install, commission and service complex EDM, laser and electrochemical systems at customer sites, travelling as required to support global customers.

The role demands strong fault-finding skills, drawing interpretation and clear customer communication. A technical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is expected, with a valid driving

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience installing, commissioning or maintaining industrial/manufacturing equipment.
• Confident electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, including control-system diagnostics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical information.
• Engineering apprenticeship, technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Good customer communication, a valid driving licence and passport, and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up and commission advanced industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, control-system and software-related faults.
• Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and safety checks.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support and train machine operators.
• Work with design and engineering teams on complex issues, modifications and upgrades.
• Complete accurate service documentation and represent the business professionally.
