Midas Selection is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for a UK manufacturer of advanced precision-machining equipment based in Leicestershire. You will install, commission and service complex EDM, laser and electrochemical systems at customer sites, travelling as required to support global customers.

The role demands strong fault-finding skills, drawing interpretation and clear customer communication. A technical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is expected, with a valid driving

Competenze

• Proven field service experience installing, commissioning or maintaining industrial/manufacturing equipment.
• Confident electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, including control-system diagnostics.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manuals and technical information.
• Engineering apprenticeship, technical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Good customer communication, a valid driving licence and passport, and willingness to travel.

Mansioni

• Install, set up and commission advanced industrial machinery at customer sites.

Field Service Engineer

Leicestershire / UK •£40,000–£52,000 basic DOE

The opportunity

Midas Selection is recruiting experienced Field Service Engineers for a growing UK manufacturer of advanced precision-machining equipment supplied to customers worldwide. Our client designs specialist EDM, laser and electrochemical machining systems used in aerospace, gas turbine and other high-precision manufacturing applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers and travelling to customer sites.

What you’ll be doing

• Install, set up and commission advanced industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, control-system and software-related faults.
• Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and safety checks.

Relevant engineering backgrounds

We would welcome experience from CNC machine tools, EDM equipment, industrial laser machinery, special-purpose machines (SPM), automation systems, precision machinery and electro-mechanical field service. Direct EDM or laser experience would be an advantage, but is not essential where strong transferable industrial machinery experience is demonstrated.

Salary & package

• £40,000–£52,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
• Potential travel-related additional earnings of approximately £10,000 per year (dependent on travel undertaken; not guaranteed).
• Company vehicle, including an electric option; pension contributions.
• UK overtime at a flat rate, overseas overnight allowances and travel payments.
