Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer to install, commission and support our CNC systems at customer sites across the UK and internationally. You will diagnose mechanical, electromechanical and electronic faults, perform calibration and preventative maintenance, and contribute to in-house builds and admin tasks.

The role requires a clean driving record, willingness to travel, and proficiency with MS Office. A company vehicle and bonus scheme are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis CNC machines, including motor systems, drives and axis alignment.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and support CNC systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical and electronic CNC systems.
• Troubleshoot, install, calibrate and maintain equipment.
• Provide preventative maintenance and training on-site and in-house.
• Perform axis alignments to maintain accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintain service tools and test equipment.
• Handle a workload of roughly 60% mechanical and 40% electrical tasks.
• Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:15 - 17:30, Friday 8:15 - 12:30

Salary: £35k - £46k (OTE £56k+)

The Role:

My client is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. Essentially you will provide technical support, maintenance, installation, and training for their CNC machinery both in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will also be involved in in-house machine builds and administrative functions.

Job Role:

• Install, commission, and support the company's systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic systems on CNC machinery.
• Troubleshoot, install, calibrate, and maintain equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and deliver training to customers on-site and in-house.
• Conduct axis alignments to maintain machine accuracy and performance.
• Communicate effective with clients to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
• Maintain and calibrate service tools and test equipment.
• Perform a workload consisting of approximately 60% mechanical, 40% electrical, and some pneumatic tasks.
• Interpret circuit diagrams and follow detailed schematics.

The Candidate:

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong experience with 5-axis CNC machines, including motor systems, drives, and axis alignment.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to travel internationally on a regular basis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
