Job summary

Hernshead Recruitment Ltd in Leicestershire is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. You will install, maintain, repair industrial machinery and diagnose mechanical/electrical faults while supporting machine commissioning, calibration and alignment. You will train customers and carry out preventative maintenance, with travel across the UK and abroad as required. A customer-focused mindset and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Job description

A specialist engineering business based in Leicestershire is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its growing team.

This is an opportunity for someone with a background in CNC machinery, machine tools or precision engineering who enjoys technical problem-solving, working with complex equipment and supporting customers.

You don't necessarily need extensive field service experience. Candidates from CNC applications, commissioning, machine tool engineering or machining backgrounds with strong technical ability will also be considered, with training and support provided.

The Role:

Experience Required

• Experience with CNC machinery, machine tools or industrial equipment
• A good understanding of mechanical systems and machine operation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• An interest in developing their electrical and electromechanical knowledge
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• The ability to work independently and manage their workload

Experience with multi-axis machinery, machine alignment, electrical systems or commissioning would be advantageous.

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and overseas are required.
