Job summary

RTC PLANT SERVICES LTD, based in Peterborough, is seeking a full-time Field Service Engineer to maintain and repair plant and industrial equipment on customer sites and in the workshop. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and provide clear technical support.

Travel to client sites and collaboration with the service team are essential, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical plant issues.
• Field service experience with on-site visits and client interactions.
• Clear communication with customers, colleagues, suppliers.
• Ability to read technical manuals and service documents.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel.
• Experience in plant or heavy machinery beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• On-site maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on plant and machinery at customer locations and in the workshop.
• Identify faults and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical support and ensure safety and compliance standards.
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with the service team and communicate findings to customers.
• Support continuous improvement, installation and commissioning of equipment.
• Contribute to a positive, cooperative working environment.
