Job summary

SIG Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and support packaging equipment across the UK and Ireland. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and liaise with customers to ensure optimal equipment performance.

The role requires an engineering apprenticeship, a relevant HNC/HND, and 3+ years in servicing process or packaging equipment, with travel up to 75% during training and up to 50% thereafter, including international travel.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with hands-on maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and automation knowledge.
• Ability to travel up to 75% during training and 50% thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and managing hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities, with timely service reports.
• Plan and execute preventive and major maintenance to high standards.
• Provide production support to restore and optimize production lines.
• Analyze and resolve mechanical, electrical and automation malfunctions.
• Conduct root cause analyses and document findings for complex issues.
• Support Quality with root cause analysis and recommissioning of equipment.
• Identify performance issues and implement improvements to optimize equipment.
• Identify business opportunities and share customer feedback to drive growth.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely information submission.
