As the Field Engineer, you will be responsible for service activities on products supplied by Baxter/Hillrom (Smart Beds / Safe Patient handling equipment) covering several accounts in Leeds, North Staffordshire, Midlands, and Manchester.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Install, service, repair, and maintain products distributed by Baxter/Hillrom.
  • Establish & maintain timely customer communications & relationships, along with other key partners (e.g., team members and business units).
  • Report all relevant service activity, ensuring updated and accurate service data in the system (all work orders should be closed within the same day).
  • Responsible for maintaining and documenting the assigned calibration equipment.
  • Provide technical support for inbound calls from customers & patients, detail the job on the system, and undertake the relevant actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical competence in assigned products through relevant training and development.
  • Be the technical expert and support for customers, account managers, and engineers, including being the technical escalation point for the designated product group.
  • Provide technical feedback into contracts & tender submissions.
  • Review critical metrics regularly and adapt working practices to maximize service level.
What You'll Bring:
  • Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in relevant engineering fields (e.g., medical technology, electronics, mechanical) is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth practical experience in relevant technical/engineering disciplines with measured KPIs.
  • Experience in meeting critical timeframes and deadlines.
  • Experience managing and engaging with customers.
  • Knowledge of connectivity, network integration, wireless protocols, mobile networks, software support, and cybersecurity standards is advantageous.
Job Requirements:
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call (if required).
  • Lone working.
  • Frequent travel within the UK/Ireland, and occasional travel to other UK, Ireland, and European locations. Must hold a full UK/Ireland driving license.
