Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Multi Skilled / Packaging) based in Birmingham to join a leading manufacturer of packaging machinery. You will install, service and maintain packaging line equipment across the UK, with occasional travel to Italy and full manufacturer training in Italy.

The role covers diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system faults, performing preventative maintenance, commissioning new machinery and completing service

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer.
• Background on production or packaging machinery.
• Multi-skilled in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on packaging machinery.
• Diagnose and fault-find mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system issues.
• Install, commission and set up new packaging machinery.
• Attend customer sites across the UK, with 1-2 nights away per week and occasional travel to Italy.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records and testing documentation.
• Monday to Friday.

Are you a Field Service Engineer, with a mechanical and electrical background, looking to join a growing manufacturer of specialist packaging machinery?

On offer is the opportunity to join a UK market‑leading supplier of liquid filling and capping machinery. The company designs, manufactures, installs and supports packaging equipment for the cosmetic, personal Care, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

You will provide installation, servicing, maintenance and breakdown support on specialist packaging machinery at customer sites across the UK. Occasionally, you will travel to machine suppliers over in Italy.

The role will involve diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control‑system faults, as well as installing, commissioning and upgrading equipment.

This role would suit a multi-skilled Field Service Engineer looking for long‑term stability within a specialist engineering environment.

The Role
