Job summary

Omega is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Mechatronic) based from home and covering the Midlands. You will provide on-site and remote support for our product range, installing, investigating and repairing faults, and coordinating parts and resources as needed.

Effective communication with customers and the CSC is essential, along with following safety policies and company procedures. A company vehicle is provided with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Electrical, mechanical and computer-based engineering knowledge is required.
• Experience working on commercial equipment in a production environment.
• Good communication and customer liaison skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Install, investigate and repair machine faults (electrical and mechanical).
• Plan parts, equipment and resources needed for repairs and complete timely fixes.
• Escalate issues to CSC, communicate with customers and document updates.
• Assist customers and staff with spare parts identification.
• Provide helpdesk, telephone and remote support as needed.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and company policies.

Salary: £43,00 - £50,000 + overtime + company vehicle

Position Description

Based from home and working throughout the Midlands, the Field Service Engineer (Mechatronic) is responsible for providing on site and remote support for the range of company products on which they have been trained.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Installing, investigating and repairing machine faults of both
• Electrical and a Mechanical nature assigned by the CSC (Customer Support Centre)
• Plan and prepare the correct parts/equipment and resource needed for repairs assigned to you in a timely manner.
• Ensure clear communication of escalations/ problems / concerns or delays to the CSC / Supervisor / Customer and follow up with a report if required.
• To assist customers and internal staff with the identification of spare parts.
• Customer facing – clear communication to customer both verbal and written – take ownership of faults / calls assigned to you
• Demonstrate flexibility with start and finish times and cross skilling
• Provide Helpdesk / Telephone / Remote support when required.
• Observe Health and Safety & Working time regulations. To follow and Adhere to the Company handbook and company policy and procedures.

Skills

• A wide range of electrical, mechanical and computer-based engineering skills.
• Experience of working on commercial equipment within a production environment alone and as part of a team is required.
• Consistently displaying a positive attitude towards customer service is a necessity, as is the ability to work within a close team, whilst displaying the necessary individual initiative required to achieve and maintain service targets and KPI’s.
• Good communication, IT and customer liaison skills are essential to this role.
