JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mechanical or Electrical Field Service Engineer who has a City and Guilds / NVQ level 3 electrical certificate (or equivalent or higher).

Working within a team of two, or on your own as a Mechanical / Electrical Field Service Engineer you will travel to shopping centres, warehouses and student accommodation nationwide, to service and maintain smoke ventilation systems.

As a Mechanical / Electrical Field Service Engineer you will also be responsible for routine inspections, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal performance of the systems.

This role will involve working at height, working nights and working away from home on occasions.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Mechanical / Electrical Field Service Engineer include:

• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of smoke ventilation and Fire Damper systems on commercial sites
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical issues with the systems
• Collaborate with clients and provide excellent customer service during site visits
• Complete detailed service reports, documenting work carried out and any recommendations for improvements
• Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Working at height experience from fixed ladders, access machines
• You will need a Full Clean Drivers Licence (Vehicle provided by the company)
• You will be required to work overtime when required and to cover at weekends on a rota basis for any call outs
• Overnight stop outs are required; therefore, a flexible approach will be needed
• Up to date electrical qualifications. Minimal City and Guilds / NVQ level 3 electrical certificate
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Proficient in both written and spoken English
• Good Team player as well as being able to work on own initiative
• Full Clean UK Driving Licence required
• Live within a 15-mile radius of Bolton / Manchester area
• Flexible approach to working hours and travelling away from home when required

DESIRABLE

• A 2391 certificate qualification would be advantageous
• IPAF License
• ECITB Safety Passport or equivalent
• Experience in this field would be ideal, however the company will be willing to train a suitable candidate who has a mechanical / electrical background in another service field
