Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an Engineer, Field Service to be based in Northern Ireland, reporting to the Fareham location. You will independently perform overhaul, repair and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä equipment, ensuring safety and timely service delivery with strong client interaction.

Travel up to 200 days per year, English fluency, and a strong engineering background are essential to meet the operational needs of UK and offshore projects.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in field service with installation of mechanical, electric, and auxiliary equipment.
• Experience with Wärtsilä products is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel and work in the UK, abroad and offshore (up to 200 days/year).
• Very good English skills – spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute Field Service activities such as overhaul, repair and basic troubleshooting.
• Adhere to local work instructions for overhauling components.
• Ensure on-site activities comply with safety rules and health and safety obligations.
• Coordinate with On-Site Team Leader/Service Coordinator on progress and deadlines.
• Interact with customers on site, handle enquiries and technical queries.
• Promote available Wärtsilä products and solutions to customers.
• Submit timesheets and expense sheets weekly.
• Submit accurate service reports within 48 hours of returning from jobs.
• Support colleagues with ad-hoc duties as needed.
