Position: Field Service Engineer – Process Instrumentation & Automation

Location: London, England

Salary: £40-45k Depending on Experience + Bonus

Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for an additional Field Service Engineer in the South. The role involves servicing, calibrating, and fault diagnostics/repair of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Commissioning, calibrating, and repairing onsite instrumentation.
  • Working across various industries within our customer database.
  • Liaising with Service Coordinators for spares, tools, and paperwork readiness.
  • Communicating with customers to understand job scope, estimated arrival times, and delays.
  • Adhering to site safety rules, permit to work systems, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Following local and industry procedures, codes of practice, and our quality management system.
  • Providing support to other departments and customers as directed by the Services Manager.
  • Submitting timely and accurate job reports using company service report forms.
Qualifications & Profile
  • Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level in Electronics or Instrumentation Control.
  • Recognized apprenticeship in relevant disciplines or minimum 2 years' process control experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach to work activities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build good relationships with customers.
  • Punctuality and reliable timekeeping.
  • Valid clean driving license.
