Job description

About you

We're looking for an experienced engineer with a background in digital printing, industrial inkjet technology or specialist printing equipment.

Ideally, you'll already be working for a print equipment manufacturer or supplier, supporting customers with installations, servicing, maintenance and technical issues.

You'll be comfortable with both the engineering and software side of the equipment, and you'll enjoy working directly with customers to get problems resolved.

We're particularly interested in hearing from people with experience across production inkjet presses, digital printing machinery, coding and marking equipment or similar technology.

You'll also need to be happy travelling, as this role involves regular visits to customers across the UK and mainland Europe.

Your experience

You'll have a solid electro-mechanical engineering background, ideally with an HNC, degree or equivalent qualification.

We're looking for someone who understands how printing equipment works, can diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and is equally comfortable investigating software and application issues.

You'll be confident using Windows operating systems, providing remote technical support and working through problems with customers and other engineers.

Experience installing equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance and delivering customer training would be particularly useful.

Whilst printing and inkjet experience is our preference, we'd also consider someone from a closely related industrial machinery background, provided you've got strong electro-mechanical and software experience.

You’ll need a full driving licence and be comfortable with international travel.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining an established manufacturer of digital printing equipment in a newly created Engineering & Software Application Specialist position.

Your role will involve supporting customers and distributors across the UK, Europe and occasionally the Middle East and Africa.

You’ll be responsible for installing, servicing and maintaining equipment, investigating faults and providing technical support both on‑site and remotely.

You’ll also be supporting the software applications associated with the equipment, helping customers resolve issues and making sure everything is operating correctly.

Alongside this, you’ll be delivering technical training, supporting new installations and upgrades, and working with the wider engineering team when more complicated problems need investigating.

There’ll also be occasional involvement with exhibitions and product demonstrations.

About the business

You’ll be joining an established international manufacturer specialising in digital printing and inkjet technology, with customers across commercial printing, labels and packaging.

This is a new position within the engineering team, supporting an existing customer and distributor network across Europe and beyond.

The role is field‑based, with the UK. You’ll need to be able to visit the office (Herts) when required, alongside regular international travel.

The salary is £45,000–£55,000, depending on experience.

Next steps

If you’re currently working within digital print, industrial inkjet or print equipment engineering and would be interested in a role combining technical support, software applications and international travel, we’d love to hear from you.

Equally, if you’re coming from a similar machinery background and feel your experience could transfer, we’re happy to have a conversation
