Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service packaging machinery at customer sites across the region.

You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on automated equipment, travel as required, work on-site and build strong relationships with customers while maintaining high safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service engineering is essential.
• Packaging machinery experience is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering business, covering customer sites across the Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a customer-facing role focused on the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of packaging machinery. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and be confident diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on complex automated equipment. You will work predominantly on-site, providing a high level of technical support while building strong relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service packaging machinery at customer sites.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
• Complete machinery upgrades, modifications and installations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.

About You

• Previous Field Service Engineering experience is essential.
• Packaging machinery experience is essential.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working with automated machinery and control systems.
• Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Midlands and occasionally further afield.
