Field Service Generator Engineer

Location: Southern Region - Ideally based near the M3, M4, or M25 corridor

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package

About the Role

We are looking to expand our field service engineering team and are seeking an experienced Field Service Generator Engineer to support operations across the Southern region. Ideally, you will be located within reach of the M3, M4, or M25 to efficiently access client sites.

This role is part of our Critical Power division, where we maintain and support a wide range of diesel generators and UPS systems. Our projects vary in scale, from compact systems to complex, multi-million-pound installations. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across these systems, ensuring reliability and high performance.

As a customer-facing representative of the business, professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to service excellence are essential. You will work independently and collaboratively, often under tight deadlines, to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on diesel generators
2. Perform routine and reactive maintenance on-site
3. Liaise with clients and subcontractors to deliver projects to specification and schedule
4. Work with a range of generator brands including CAT, Cummins, FG Wilson, Perkins, MTU, Mitsubishi, Volvo, and others
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation
6. Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs as required
7. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company standards

Candidate Requirements

1. Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel generators
2. Knowledge of key generator brands (e.g. SDMO, CAT, Cummins, FGW, MTU, Perkins, Doosan, Scania, etc.)
3. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Full UK driving licence
6. Willingness to travel across the UK and participate in an on-call rota
