Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is hiring a Field Service Engineer in Ashford. The role covers servicing, maintenance and repair of food production machinery at customer sites with a local Southeast patch. It includes in-workshop repairs and ongoing training shadowing experienced engineers.

The position operates Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm, with a 1-in-5 on-call rota and progression opportunities within a growing company. A mechanical or electrical background and related qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical background with suitable qualifications (HNC/HND/NVQ).
• On-site field service experience desirable but not required.
• Willingness to train and shadow experienced engineers.

Are you from a mechanical or electrical background, looking for a stable Monday- Friday field service role with full internal training shadowing experienced engineers, and clear progression to a fully-fledged Service Engineer?

In this role, you will be responsible for covering a local patch, carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of vacuum packaging machinery and tabletop slicers at customer sites. You will also work in the workshop repairing and refurbishing equipment, while troubleshooting technical issues and providing effective solutions to customers.

This role would suit someone with a Mechanical or Electrical background, perhaps with an HNC, HND, or NVQ, looking for a role in a new, growing company that offers clear progression into a Multi Skilled Engineer role.

The Role:

• Carrying out the servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of food production machinery at customer sites
