Job summary

Pertemps Network Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks across Birmingham and the West Midlands. You will travel to customer sites, perform planned servicing and breakdown repairs, and document work with clear communication.

Qualifications

• Previous experience servicing or repairing forklift trucks or similar materials-handling equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing a regional workload.
• Professional and customer-focused approach.
• Commitment to health and safety.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Completing breakdown repairs and returning equipment to service efficiently.
• Working on both customer-owned and company-owned machinery.
• Communicating repair requirements and completion times clearly to customers.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Accurately completing service reports and supporting documentation.
• Managing your workload independently across an assigned geographical area.
• Maintaining excellent relationships with customers and internal service teams.
