Pertemps Specialist Talent Solutions seeks a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and related equipment across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

You will travel to customer sites, carrying out planned servicing, diagnosing faults and completing repairs with a focus on safety and quality. A full UK driving licence and relevant engineering qualifications are essential, with ongoing training and progression opportunities offered.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a range of forklift trucks and materials-handling equipment across the region.
• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete breakdown repairs and return equipment to service quickly.
• Work on both customer-owned and company-owned machinery.
• Communicate repair requirements and completion times clearly to customers.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and to high standards.
• Accurately complete service reports and documentation.
• Manage workload independently across a geographical area.
• Maintain excellent relationships with customers and internal teams.

An established UK materials-handling business is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support its customers across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

The Role

Working from home and travelling to customer sites throughout the region, you will service, maintain and repair a range of forklift trucks and associated materials-handling equipment.

• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Completing breakdown repairs and returning equipment to service efficiently.
• Working on both customer-owned and company-owned machinery.
• Communicating repair requirements and completion times clearly to customers.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Accurately completing service reports and supporting documentation.
• Managing your workload independently across an assigned geographical area.
• Maintaining excellent relationships with customers and internal service teams.

About You

To be considered, you will need:

• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or manufacturer training.

• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience working with other mobile plant or capital equipment may also be considered, although forklift truck experience is essential.
