Job summary

Sungrow is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer on a 2-year temporary contract to support PV and energy storage systems across the Mid-region and Northern region of England. You will help customers keep clean-energy assets safe, reliable, and high-performing.

You will perform commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, delivering field-based and remote support to customers and partners in Scotland and Northern England. Regular travel and strong safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• Technical training or qualification in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or power electronics.
• Experience servicing solar PV, battery storage, electrical, or industrial equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work for PV inverters and ESS equipment.
• Deliver field-based and remote technical support to customers and service partners across the Northern England and Scotland.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, communication, and software faults and provide timely solutions.
• Complete inspections, testing, firmware updates, and performance checks per company standards and regulations.
• Prepare clear service reports and maintain accurate service records.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve customer experience and equipment performance.

• Prepare clear service reports, document corrective actions, and maintain accurate service records.
• Collaborate with internal technical, sales, and service teams to improve customer experience and equipment performance.

Your profile

To thrive in this role, your background could look like this:

• You have technical training in electrical engineering, renewable energy, power electronics, or a comparable discipline.
• You bring practical experience servicing solar PV, battery storage, electrical, or industrial equipment.
• You are confident interpreting electrical diagrams, using diagnostic tools, and resolving faults independently.
• You are based in, or able to work remotely from, Northern England or Scotland, with regular travel across the northern UK region.
• You prioritise health, safety, quality, and professional customer communication in every task.
• You communicate in English at C1 level; additional European languages are a plus.
