Job summary

Power Electrics is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to maintain and repair diesel generators for both customer-owned and rental equipment. You will interact with customers and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure high-quality service.

The role demands fault-finding proficiency, a strong customer service ethos, and a valid driving licence. DBS checks and UK eligibility are required, with on-call duties and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC) or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is acceptable.
• Proven servicing/repair experience on diesel generator sets (FG Wilson, Cummins or similar).
• Full driving licence is required.
• Strong fault-finding skills and clear communication with customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and maintenance of diesel generators for customer-owned and rental equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on customer and rental generators; ensure quick issue resolution.
• Conduct site surveys to assess service needs and maintenance requirements.
• Participate in on-call rota to provide timely after-hours support.
• Follow Health & Safety and ISO standards; maintain clean, orderly workspaces and company vehicles.
